Am I honest & truthful with myself & others?
Beloved, Honesty and truth are essential character traits to have and use when reflecting God's kingdom. As his children, we must reflect our heavenly Father's character. In the Psalm of David, scripture reminds us, God desires truth in the inward parts (Psalm 51:6). Also, in the battle against evil, we are to wear the belt of truth (Ephesians 6:14) and stand for righteousness. Why is it important for us to be honest and truthful? To give God access to flow and move in our lives through prayer. He's unable to work through us when we dwell in places of untruths because it's contrary to who He is (1 John 1:5-7) and it limits his ability to move on our behalf. He calls us to walk as children of the light, for the fruit of the Spirit is goodness, righteousness, and truth (Ephesians 5:8-9). As believers in Jesus, he also requires the following according to Ephesians 4:22-25: •let go of the way we used to live & the sinful nature of the old man •allow the Spirit of God to renew our minds & put on the new man •to tell the truth to each other Being honest with others does not permit us to be rude, for we must speak the truth will love (Ephesians 4:15, 1 Corinthians 13:4-6). Beloved, let us examine ourselves and ask the Lord God for help in areas we are struggling in, that we may overcome (Hebrews 4:15-16, Hosea 13:9, Psalm 79:9, 121:2, Isaiah 41:13). As always, it's your choice... what will you decide? Additional scriptures: John 8:31-32, 17:17 & 19, Psalm 115:11, Proverbs 8:7, 12:17 & 19, Isaiah 50:7 & 9, Romans 12:17, 13:13-14
